We’re excited to announce a partnership with EigenLayer and the Eigen Foundation—bringing LBTC into the heart of EigenLayer’s restaking ecosystem as the first BTC asset.

With this partnership, two worlds collide. Bitcoin, the world’s most valuable and trusted asset, Bitcoin, enters the modular restaking ecosystem.

Lombard and EigenLayer are united by a shared vision: an open, composable, multi-chain future where Bitcoin is no longer passive capital—but productive collateral powering permissionless innovation.

Meet the Builders

EigenLayer is a pioneering restaking protocol on Ethereum. It allows users to “restake” their ETH (or ETH-backed assets) to secure decentralized services known as Autonomous Verifiable Services —creating a shared security layer for the modular blockchain stack.

In just one year, the EigenLayer ecosystem has flourished into a vibrant marketplace, with over 190 AVSs in development (including 40 on mainnet), more than 2,000 registered Operators, and 80,000+ unique staking addresses powering the protocol.

Lombard is a leading Bitcoin staking protocol bridging BTC into the world of decentralized finance. Its flagship product, LBTC, is a Bitcoin LST (liquid staking token) native to Ethereum—designed for composability and utility, just like stETH for Ethereum.

Bitcoin Enters Its Restaked Era

With LBTC now integrated into EigenLayer, Bitcoin can directly power AVSs like LayerZero and DIN, while also supporting Bitcoin-validated networks such as Osmosis, TAC, and Sui via the Babylon ecosystem.

This dual staking model allows LBTC holders to earn base yield from Babylon, and additional rewards through EigenLayer restaking—unlocking a new class of stacked yield opportunities for Bitcoin holders.

To jumpstart adoption, the Eigen Foundation is committing resources to accelerate LBTC integration across the EigenLayer ecosystem. These incentives will help seed a vibrant stake-and-earn BTC economy.

Beyond EigenLayer, builders and protocols across Ethereum and beyond can integrate liquid restaked Bitcoin—unlocking powerful new use cases in DeFi, trustless infrastructure, and modular security.

A Research Partnership That Pushes Boundaries

Together with EigenLayer’s leadership and research teams, we’re exploring the frontiers of Bitcoin restaking—advancing modular blockchain design, enhancing interoperability, and contributing open research that benefits the broader crypto ecosystem.

As part of this initiative, we’re also jointly exploring novel approaches to managing slashing risks—laying the foundation for robust security frameworks that safeguard restaked Bitcoin and support long-term growth.

Cross-Chain Security with LayerZero

Lombard’s upcoming Decentralized Validation Node (DVN), built in collaboration with LayerZero, will extend Bitcoin’s reach across ecosystems.

By enriching cross-chain data availability and enabling more secure interoperability, the DVN complements EigenLayer’s modular infrastructure—strengthening trust and connectivity across chains.

Bitcoin has long been the backbone of crypto—but rarely the engine of innovation. That’s changing.

With LBTC restaking live on EigenLayer, Bitcoin becomes more than just a store of value. LBTC holders gain access to yield, utility, and influence in shaping the next wave of decentralized systems, without compromise.

This is just the beginning. The future of Bitcoin is restaked.

Lombard + EigenLayer = Infinite Possibilities.
